      The use of insect phototaxis to trap agricultural, forestry and health insect-pests has always been a component of green pest management. This article reviews the various phototactic behaviors of insects, including the mechanisms of insect phototaxis-compass theory, Mach band effect theory, and openal space theory; On the physical, biological environment and light property, the ecological adaptability caused insect phototaxis were discussed, as well as the orientation and movement paths of insects approaching the light source.
