The olfactory system of insects is closely related to its various life activities. Chemosensory proteins (CSPs)are an important part of the olfactory system, which can bind odor or pheromone molecules and transmit them to olfactory receptors and perform olfactory-related functions. With the development of molecular biology and sequencing technology, more and more insect CSPs have been identified. CSPs are widely distributed in chemical sensing organs such as antennae, tarsus and mandibular whiskers in insects. At the same time, they are also expressed in non sensing organs such as epidermis, abdomen and body. They have functions of sensing chemical molecules and are related to the physiological functions of insect growth, development and reproduction and insect resistance to insecticides. In this study, the discovery, naming, molecular properties, structure and distribution of CSPs were reviewed, and the odor molecular recognition mechanism, insecticide resistance mechanism and functional classification of CSPs were introduced. It is expected to provide reference for using CSPs as a target to control pests in the future. |
