| Sacculocornutia sinicolella Caradja was firstly reported feeding on the leaves of Castanea mollissima Blume in Luotian County, Hubei Province, China On the basis of both field survey and laboratory rearing, the larva and pupa morphologies of Sacculocornutia sinicolella were described and photographed, the ecological habits of the species were primarily given and photographed, and molecular analyses based on the 629 bp portion of the mitochondrial DNA from the cytochrome oxidase I (mt COI) region was conducted to supplement morphological characteristics in identifying this species. |
