Copper (Cu) is a micronutrient necessary for organisms to grow and develop, participating in or forming many copper enzymes and copper bioactive proteins. However, intaking excessive Cu will be harmful to organisms. Cu poisoning relate to many factors, such as species, genetic, age, and food, etcIn ecosystems, the species of insects is very much, the quantity is big, the distribution is wide, besides, insects tend to be feeding, transfer and metabolism of Cu in environment, then affect their growth and breedingIt often manifests with development period extension, weight loss, body length shorten, the reduce in pupation rate, eclosion rate, spawning rate, hatching rate, survival rate and the decrease in the number of population, etc. This paper summarized the research about the effect of Cu2 + stress on the growth and breeding of insects in recent years. |
