Stethorus ( Allosstethorus ) parapauperculus is an important predator of tetranychid mites that occur in banana, papaya and rubber plantation in tropical area. The effects of temperature (16℃, 20℃, 24℃, 28℃ and 32℃) on development and reproduction of this coccinellid on Tetranychus pierceii were studied in laboratory experiments. The egg, larval and pupal duration of S.parapauperculus varies from 2.38, 4.26 and 2.60 d (32℃) to 12.48, 25.10 and 14.17 d (16℃), respectively. The longevity of adult females averaged 142.53 d at 16℃, but declined to 95.46 d at 32℃. The developmental threshold and effective accumulated temperatures for an entire generation were 12.82℃and 227.63 degree-day, respectively. The highest fecundity per female was observed at 28℃(595.49 eggs/female) and lowest at 16℃ (125.05 eggs/female). The intrinsic rate of increase (rm) was the highest at 32℃(0.2063) and lowest at 16℃(0.0342). It could be concluded that the relative high temperature was suitable for the development and reproduction of the ladybeetle. The implication of these results for mass rearing of Spa.rapauperculus was discussed
