The Chinese citrus fly Bactrocera minax is one of important pests devastating citrus. Previous occurrence monitor on the fly was limited to by outdoor luring and pupae culturing. In the current study, a series of techniques and methods including outdoor pupae culturing, systematic investigation, adult trapping and maggot fruit dissection were applied to clarify laying progress, larval development progress, fruit landing progress, pupation and emergency progress. The results revealed that the occurrence dynamics of the fruit fly in Chongqing was as follows: laying peak was between the third ten days of June and the first ten days of July; occurrence peaks of the first, second and third stages of larva were between the second ten days of September and early October, the first and third ten days of October and the second ten days of October and early November, respectively; the landing peak of maggot fruit was between first and third ten days of October, consistent with the occurrence peak of second and third stages of larva; the peak of adult trapping in orchards was between the second and third ten days of June, 30 days latter than outdoor pupae culturing. Besides, the cumulative occurrence progresses of various stages were fitted by Logistic equation and the calculated occurrence progress including beginning, apex and ending of the peak can be obtained. The outcome provides some important guideline significance for occurrence forecast and control of the fruit fly. |
