A survey of termite species and their damage to chestnut tree was contucted in Longan County, Nanning during July 2010 and October 2012. The results show that 16 species of termites in 8 genera under two families were found to be in chestnut forest. Aamong of the species, 14 species, 6 genera are belong to Termitidae which made up 875% of the total species, and 2 species, 2 genera belong family Rhinotermitidae which made up 125%〖DK〗.Among of the harmful termite species, Ancistrotermes dimorphus、Macrotermes barneyi、Macrotermes annandalei and Odontotermes formosanus were most damaging. Odontotermes parallelus, Macrotermes denticulatus, Macrotermes planicapitatus, Macrotermes meidoensis, Euhamitermes quadratceps, Pericapritermes jangtsekiangensis, Pericapritermes wuzhishanensis, Pericapritermes hepuensis and Pseudocapritermes sinensis were found in the chestnut forests, but were unharmful to the chestnut trees, of which Macrotermes meidoensis and Pericapritermes uuzhishanensis were identified as new record species in Guangxi. The aging period of the chestnut trees were the main period damaged by termites, of which the infestation rate on aging period of chestnut trees was 9265%, and the seriously infestation rate was 7918%. |
