There is a natural magnetic phenomenon inside the earth, which is called the earth's magnetic field. With today's communications developed the electromagnetic waves are frequent, the earth's surface is filled with electromagnetic fields. Honey bees are important pollinators and their foraging flights are exposed to magnetic field environment. At present, researchers generally believe that bees can use magnetic fields for navigation. But the abnormal magnetic fields in the environment will also affect the positioning navigation, flight, foraging activity, learning cognitive ability of bees. In order to understand the influence of magnetic fields on the behavioral characteristics of bees, the results of previous studies were summarized.

Butterflies are common flower-visiting insects. Studying the pollination features of butterflies is significant for figuring out the function of butterfly pollinator communities in nature ecosystem. In September 2019, the butterfly communities in 9 crucial ecological regions of the Pearl River Delta were investigated, while the pollinator features were researched. The results showed that, 74.19% species of butterflies could carry pollens, 49.63% could carry pollens from select quantity. The percentages of pollinator species and individual numbers of Papilionidae and Danaidae are higher than those in other families; the minimal percentages of pollinator existed in Hesperiinae in species and Satyridae in individual numbers. Whether pollen-carrying species and individual numbers, the percentages of the ventral sides of wings carrying pollens are both higher than other parts of butterfly’s body. The percentages of species and individual numbers of pollinator butterflies are significant differences on different places of a butterfly’s body of different families.

http://hjkcxb.alljournals.net/hjkcxben/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=202005003&flag=1

To explored antioxidant enzymes function and gene expression characteristics of European Dark bee (Apis mellifera mellifera) and Xinjiang Black bee during overwintering period, the indexes of overwintering performances, such as honeybee quantity loss and forage consumption were measured, the activity of antioxidant enzymes T-AOC, T-SOD, CAT and genes expression of SOD, CAT, Grx1, MsrA and Vg were analyzed. The result showed that the honeybee quantity loss and forage consumption of European Dark bee and Xinjiang Black bee were 32.86%, 32.91% and 23.41%, 23.91%. In terms of the rule of antioxidant enzyme activity, the activity of T-AOC in these two species of honeybees increased gradually; the activity of T-SOD showed a trend of descending first and then ascending, reached the lowest value in the middle of overwintering period; the activity of CAT showed a trend of ascending first, then descending and then ascending during the overwintering period. In terms of mRNA expression of genes related to antioxidant function, the gene expression of SOD and CAT of two species reached the lowest value in the middle of overwintering period; The gene expression of Grx1 increased sharply and reached the peak in the late overwintering period; The gene expression of MsrA decreased first and then increased; The gene expression of Vg increased gradually in the middle and early stage of overwintering. These results indicated that the antioxidant enzyme system of two species may play an important defense role in the low temperature stress, there is a certain cold tolerance adaptation mechanism, and the middle overwintering period may be a special stage of significant changes in enzyme activity and gene expression. The research provided new clues for the study on the mechanism of resistant to low temperature in honeybees, and provided basic research data for further research on the molecular mechanism of cold tolerance and the selection for breeding of cold-resistant honeybee species.

PLA2 plays an important role in regulating the cell physiological functions such as cell membrane fluidity and membrane protein activity. Environmental stress such as high temperature has a great influence on the physiological metabolism of cells, and its regulation in the process of anti-reverse organisms has been receiving much attention. According to the AcerPLA2 gene sequence of Hymenoptera: Apidae: Apis cerana cerana, the protein structure was predicted, and its expression difference at different temperature and different high temperature stress time was analyzed to reveal the physiology of this gene in the process of Apis cerana cerana against high temperature. The AcerPLA2 gene of Apis cerana cerana contained 745 bp open reading frame encoding 169 amino acids with a molecular weight of 19.3 kDa, no transmembrane structure, and no membrane protein. The amino acid homologous sequence alignment showed that the AcerPLA2 sequence had the highest similarity with the honeybee insects, and the similarity with other Hymenoptera insects. The results of qRT-PCR showed that the expression of PLA2 was higher at 35℃, 40℃ and 45℃, and higher temperature could induce the increase of the expression of the gene. At the same time, the expression of PLA2 was affected by the time of high temperature stress, and the long-term high temperature stress caused the expression of PLA2 gene to increase. The results showed that AcerPLA2 played important physiological functions in Apis cerana cerana in response to high temperature stress.

In order to better screen out an effective interference sequence of AcerOr1, in this research, the olfactor receptors AcerOr1 of Apis cerana cerana was used as the target. Three fragments of AcerOr1-1 (429 bp), AcerOr1-2 (218 bp) and AcerOr1-3 (543 bp) were selected, respectively, and the corresponding dsRNA expression vectors were constructed. After dsRNA was abtained, RNAi experiment was carried out in vivo through single feeding. qPCR and Western blotting were used to detect interference efficiency from mRNA and protein levels. The results showed that there was no significant statistical difference in the mRNA expression of AcerOr1 between the dsAcerOr1-1 group with 429 bp fragment and the control group (P＞0.05). The expression of AcerOr1 was significantly inhibited in dsAcerOr1-2 group with 218 bp fragment and dsAcerOr1-3 group with 543 bp fragment, and the inhibition rates were 88.85% ± 0.12% and 69.16% ± 1.06%, respectively (P＜0.05). The dsAcerOr1-2 with the fragment of 218 bp had the best interference effect. The results of Western blot showed that the expression of AcerOr1 protein was not significantly difference of dsAcerOr1-1 group compared with the control group (P＞0.05), while the expression of AcerOr1 protein was significantly inhibited after feeding dsAcerOr1-2 and dsAcerOr1-3 (P＜0.05). In this study, AcerOr1 gene interference vector was successfully constructed, and finally the dsAcerOr1-2 was selected as the best interference fragment, which effectively inhibit the expression of target gene mRNA and protein, laying a foundation for further study of the function of AcerOr1 in vivo and in vitro.

http://hjkcxb.alljournals.net/hjkcxben/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=202203007&flag=1

The sphecid wasp is an important predatory insect and pollinator. From June 2018 to November 2019, four survey areas (ornamental cash crop, pomelo forest, ancient tea forest and farmland) in Xishuangbanna were investigated once a month by using malaise trap. The results were as follows: 1) A total of 3 families, 15 tribes, 27 genera and 110 species were collected. Among them, 3 tribes, 5 genera and 7 species belonged to Sphecidae, 2 tribes, 3 genera and 8 species belonged to Ampulicidae, and 10 tribes, 19 genera and 95 species belonged to Crabronidae. Crabronidae was the dominant family, Psenulus, Larra and Trypoxylon were the dominant genera, and Larra fenchihuensis and Larra polita luzonensis were the dominant species. 2) There were differences in the dominant genera and species in different crop areas: The dominant genera of the ornamental cash crop area (Plot I) were Psenulus and Trypoxylon, and the dominant species were Psenulus pulcherrimus pulcherrimus (17.4%) and Carinostigmus iwatai (15.6%); in the pomelo forest (Plot II) the dominant genera were Psenulus and Trypoxylon, and the dominant species were P. pulcherrimus pulcherrimus (17.7%) and Psenulus ceylonicus (11.3%); in the ancient tea forest (Plot III) the dominant genera were Trypoxylon and Larra, and the dominant species were L. fenchihuensis (15.6%) and Trypoxylon kedah (12.5%); in the farmland (Plot IV) the dominant genera were Larra and Trypoxylon, and the dominant species were L. fenchihuensis (21.7%) and L. polita luzonensis (21.7%). Fifteen genera occurred in several plots while 12 genera occurred in single plot. 3) Difference in vegetation was an important factor affecting the species diversity of sphecid wasp. The complexity of the vegetation community affected the characteristic index of wasp community. The more complex the vegetation community was, the more abundant and diverse the wasp community was. 4) The species diversity of wasp changed significantly with the change of seasons, and climate factors such as rainfall and temperature were important factors affecting the diversity of wasp. 5) The similarity coefficient of wasp community among the four plots was showed as a moderately dissimilar or extremely dissimilar level, indicating that the composition of wasp communities in different plots was very different. The research had clarified the species diversity of sphecid wasps in four different economic crop environments in Xishuangbanna, which could provide a basis for the protection and utilization of natural enemy insect resources and the biological control of pests.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect of different protein diets on the growth, development and metabolism of bees and to guide the production practice of beekeeping. A total of 270 Italian bees (Apis mellifera ligustica) were selected, divided into 3 groups and three repetitions, each group of 30 workers bees. Diet for control group: Honey∶Sucrose powder=1∶3; Diet for the experimental group A: Pollen∶Honey∶Sucrose powder =5∶1∶6; Diet for the experimental group B: Bee bread∶Honey∶Sucrose powder =5∶1∶6. Used these 3 diets to feed indoors in a sarong, observed and recorded the survival of bees within 7 days; Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method was used to detect the metabolic difference between the A and the B diet on bees after 5 days of feeding, performed pattern recognition analysis on the data to screen and identify different metabolites. The results showed that the survival time of bees fed experimental group B diet was significantly longer than that of experimental group A bees (P<0.05); the metabolome data showed that experimental group A and B were significantly separated. A total of 15 different metabolites were identified, including amino acids, vitamins, sugars and so on, of which 11 differential metabolites were down-regulated and 4 differential metabolites were up-regulated; significant differences in metabolite pathway analysis included glycine, serine and threonine metabolic pathways, arginine and proline metabolic pathways, lysine degradation pathways, and pentose phosphate pathways (P<0.05). It showed that in special environments such as sarongs, worker bee diets could not be directly added to pollen. The artificial diet made by mixing bee bread∶Honey∶Sucrose powder=5∶1∶6 was more suitable for the survival and development of bees.

The objective of this research was to study physiological and biochemical indexes of cold resistance of Apis cerana cerana in primitive breeding and movable-frame breeding methods during the overwintering period, which could provide theoretical basis for physiological mechanism of cold resistance and scientific breeding management of A. cerana cerana. The results showed that the content of fresh weight, protein and glycerol in two rearing methods increased from the early overwintering period and reached the highest level in the middle and late overwintering period and then decreased. The content of free water and glycogen decreased in the middle and late period of overwintering. The activities of superoxide dismutase（SOD）, catalase(CAT) and peroxidase(POD) decreased to the lowest in the middle of overwintering period, while the total antioxidant capacity increased gradually, except for the CAT enzyme in primitive breeding honeybee. The free water (P<0.05) and glycogen content (P>0.05) of movable-frame breeding honeybee was lower than that of primitive breeding honeybee, while the glycerol content was significantly higher than that of primitive breeding honeybee (P<0.05). There were significant differences in the activities of SOD, CAT and POD between movable-frame breeding honeybee and primitive breeding honeybee in different stage. The total antioxidant capacity of movable-frame breeding honeybee was significantly higher than primitive breeding honeybee (P<0.05). During the natural overwintering period, honeybee increased cold resistance by reducing the content of free water and increasing the content of glycerol, and meanwhile stored a large amount of glycogen and protein for energy consumption. At the same time, antioxidant enzymes played a synergistic role in reducing the oxidative stress response caused by low temperature stimulation during the overwintering peirod.
